The Lost Skills of Homemaking

I would like to share a new curriculum that I am using with Anne Mary (9) and Sarah (12) so that we could learn sewing together at home this fall as part of their “Home Economics” Credit.

Mom’s Home Journal

Notebooking Pages would like to introduce their Mom’s Home Journal, who says our kids are the only ones who can enjoy notebooking?

The Mom’s Home Journal has:

* beautiful cover & spines for each season
* emergency & contact info pages

The Lost Art of Dinner from Shelley at One Roast Vegetable

Here’s what Gramma knew about dinner, that we’ve all forgotten in only two generations: We’re supposed to eat dinner together. One meal, one table, no TV, no radio. We have a standing date, a ritual, see you there around 6 pm.

Perhaps one night a week Gramma took it easy and made eggs and bacon for supper. Sunday nights were probably reserved for a roast of some kind, ham maybe. Or roast beef. Something that made good leftovers for the following day.
