MOPS Cooking class!

…that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,  to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.

Titus 2:4-5

I had such a fun day yesterday! Sarah (9) and Anne Mary (7) got to go to the Fairdale Christian Church Mothers of Preschoolers meeting yesterday and teach about Freezer cooking! We got to take all the ingredients for 15 pot pies and made 15 loaves of bread. Once there, the girls completely unloaded the car. Then, they helped me set up the kitchen for the cooking session. They set up the table with our products on it. They took care of all sales, including making the receipts and totalling the orders, without a calculator! (WOOHOO).

The moms were a lot of fun. The meeting started with a devotion written by one of the Mentor Moms on the Proverbs 31 woman. Her main topic was scheduling your evenings. It was a neat concept, and idea I have not really done. I am now thinking about her words of wisdom and thinking how to apply them to my own life.

Next, I gave my standard Freezer Cooking 911 talk. BUT instead of taking questions and having a sample of a freezer meal, we all went to the kitchen where I quickly assembled 5 Chicken pot pies, then had a volunteer from the group assemble 5, then another volunteer from the group do the next five. Each woman crimped her own pie crust to make it personal. Each mom also received a loaf of bread made here in our home.

When we left the girls were very excited. They had worked the table completely on their own as I was busy answering moms’ questions.  They did such a great job.
