Scheme and Dream Night

I posted on facebook earlier this week that Duncan and I were having a “Scheme and Dream” night.  I have had quite a few people ask me what we do on these nights, so it is time to come clean.

We dream BIG around here.  In addition to prayerfully raising our children to love the Lord, to love the work of their hands, and to be amazing grown-ups, we have a dream of our own.  We want Duncan working at home full time.  If you have ever met my amazing hubby he has an awesome brain.  He makes a great living for a wonderful, stable company.  He loves his job, gets along well with his co-workers, etc.  but his heart is to be here at home where we can work side by side in all our endeavors- homeschooling, work, teaching and disciplining the children, etc.

For the past several years we have been looking at ways to make it a reality.  He does lots of side jobs and small consulting jobs for folks needing help with their websites.  We also have an online used book business, and this site as well.

So, Scheme and Dream night is when we take a look at all our business endeavors and see where we need to make changes, where we need to adjust.  We set goals.  We assign tasks.  We pray.  We give jobs to Jaeny, my assistant.  We talk about finances, financial goals, timelines and we imagine that one day it will really be a reality.

Now, every couple probably has some dreams.  Some may not be like ours, but you have to have some glue, some goals to keep things exciting and moving and never dull.  If you and your husband have some dreams you want to accomplish, schedule your own scheme and dream night and let me know how it goes!

And hey- if you are looking for an excellent webhost for your internet based business, perhaps you could consider my husband.  His hosting fees are incredibly fair and he can even turn the whole site over for you.   He also helps build, update or tweak websites and online stores.  Yep, it’s all part of livin’ the dream, baby.
