Distractions (2)

May He grant you according to your heart’s desire, and fulfill all your purposes.

 Psalm 20:4

How do we overcome distractions?

Hebrews 12:1 “….Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us….”  Here  the Lord is reminding us that there are things that hinder us in faith life and we are to throw them off.  I submit to you that these distractions are often just the things keeping you from having the home and school that you correctly desire.

If we are to identify distractions, of course we must first define those things that are not distractions.  We need to know the main thing, so that we can keep our eyes on it!  As a woman and a homemaker, I can glean a worthy goal right from the pages of scripture:

Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.    Titus 2:3-5

I like to think I still fall into the “younger woman” category, so my primary goal should be to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to my husband so that no one will malign the word of God.
