Here is what NOT to forget on your next vacation with children.

Our family has been working non-stop around the clock for a couple of months. As our summer was winding down, we had some friends who own a house in the North Carolina mountains who were kind enough to let us stay in their house. However, the weeks leading up to vacation were so busy and [...]

Me and My House

Me and My House began out of my love of discipling others. In its early days I designed and sold crafts and patterns and taught craft classes. Then we began selling home school resources in the early 90′s to promote our discipleship philosophy of education. I loved taking our whole family to vend at the home school conventions; meeting and talking with like-minded brothers and sisters at our table and presenting workshops. Now, we don’t make it to many conventions except as attenders instead of sellers. I currently conduct seminars, disciple one-on-one, write resources, and do this website, elists, blogs, and other internet discipleship, mostly on home ed, some on nutrition, and the rest out of an overflow of worship and family life.

Far Above Rubies

Colin and I both are both blessed to come from a godly Christian heritage. We are grateful for this legacy. I believe God’s plan is for us t build godly generations so that His truth is passed on from one generation to the next. They say that the most difficult time of a relay race is to pass the baton to the next runner. We must be careful that we don’t drop the baton as we seek to impart God’s truth to the next generation.

Door Prize # 4 From WriteShop

In the fall of 1997, when Kim Kautzer and Debbie Oldar began teaching their first WriteShop class to a small group of homeschoolers, they planned to use one or two established writing programs as their core curriculum. They never intended to write such a program of their own. However, as they began the process of lesson planning, they found that each program, while having its own merits, also contained holes they felt were important to fill. Over that summer of planning and preparing, WriteShop was born.

Figuring out where you left your marriage may be harder than you think. You may have even left it at the altar. Wherever it is make sure you find it!

Whether or not you have kids, your family depends on your keeping track of your marriage. How do you keep track of your keys? You make sure you put them in the same place every night so you know where to get them in the morning. It’s like clockwork! Marriages can work the same way.

Louisville Restaurant Review: Lemongrass Restaurant

Lemongrass was a great find for my husband and me.  We often have a short time for a quick date while our children are doing AWANA.  Near that location is a little fast-food-looking restaraunt called:  Lemongrass which boasts Vietnamese, Thai and Chinese Cuisine. It is a small restaurant and often it only has one or [...]

My friend, Susan gave me a bunch of mangos that were approaching the “almost too late” stage.  I did not want them to go to waste, so I searched online and found the following recipe.  I made a bunch of these for the Farmer’s market and sold out immediately.  I made one change the first [...]

Today My Fridge Is Almost Empty

I was at a friend’s house a couple of years ago and I opened the fridge to put something away and it was nearly empty.  At first I was surprised, but considering my friend had a bunch of kids (like we do) and a pretty low budget for groceries, I should have expected it. A [...]

Separation Anxiety for Pets

Guest post was written by Christina Wong from The Youthful Homemaker. Anyone who has a dog with separation anxiety knows how frustrating it can be.  When you leave the house your sweet dog becomes a Tasmanian devil, leaving a path of destruction in their wake.
