Freezer Cooking Exchange- The details

Hi Ladies!  Here are the details for the freezer cooking exchange (for our local friends, here in Louisville, KY):

Each woman is to bring 10 frozen meals.  All of these should be identical meals.

Each meal is to feed approximately 5 people.

The meal should be frozen when you arrive.

You can freeze the meals in Plastic FREEZER quality ZipLock Bags (any brand is fine, as long as it is the FREEZER kind.  Double Bag if you are concerned at all about it leaking.

For casserole types of meals, you can also freeze them in aluminum or gladware disposable pans- just use something you do not want returned.

For all meals:

Bring 10 copies of the recipe.  Then, each woman can have a copy of the recipe.

Use a Sharpie.  ON EACH Meal- Yes, write it directly on the meal so no one is looking for directions during their dinner prep time :

-Name of Recipe

-Cooking Instructions (time and temperature)

-What will be needed to serve it. (i.e. lettuce, cheese)

Please include all things you need to serve food if it can be frozen or is a pantry items.  Obviously, you cannot send ingredients which must be fresh, such at lettuce or sour cream.

Send me the meal you are making right away so others can plan their meals accordingly.   You can add a reply to this blog post or email me directly.

We will meet at my house in the Fern Creek/Highview area to swap meals.

Friday, August 14th, at 4:00 PM.

Here is what we have so far:

I won’t be able to make it this Friday, I am just not that organized. Maybe the next time around. It was a pleasure to have Sarah in my devo group at camp. She is a jewel. Hope to see you soon,
