I would recommend the books in the Elsie Dinsmore series. We've read the first 12 of 28 and love them!

Malia, This is a great activity for your daughters. Our favorite book this year, by far, was Little Pilgrim's Progress. The chapters are short and plenty of topics for discussion came up as we read the book. I also bought an inexpensive study guide by Chris Roe that may help with vocabulary and some book projects. Other ideas may include: Amos Fortune, Hans Brinker, Marguerite Henry books, Sarah, Plain and Tall, The Cabin Faced West, Island of the Blue Dolphins, The Railway Children, Homer Price, The Great Turkey Walk, The Wheel on the School, The Five LIttle Peppers, Shades of Gray, Mr. Revere and I and for the oldest girls possibly The Bronze Bow, Tuck Everlasting, My Side of the Mountain and its sequels. Let us know what books your group has enjoyed. We are always looking for good literature.

Have you ever read Caddie Woodlawn for book club? That was one of my favorite family reads that we did when I was young.

Malia, this is such a great idea! Thank you for sharing it.

I love the "Mystery Quotes" questions too. My sister and I do that with our favorite movie lines.

I think I may bring this idea up at our next homeschool group meeting.

Blessings ºÜº
