What an inspiring note! I am just starting year 2 with my 12 year old son. The similarity in our stories stop there, as my son had a horrible time in shcool and has absolutely no desire to ever return (praise the Lord!). But, I loved all the ideas you presented, what a great way to keep things interesting, fun and engaging. We are blessed with a very family friendly church family, and many homeschooling families to boot! 2 families that are very near and dear to our hearts each have 11+ children, all of them homschooled! So I just thank the Lord for the good friendships and fellowship we have with them.

Malia, I just found your site today, and am eager to read all the great information you have here! Thank you and God Bless.
